As our lifestyle is changing very fast, we hardly have the time to ascertain the quality of food we take everyday. But not everyone is very casual as far as taking food is concerned, because many things are not fit from nutrition point of view. Here are some tips which are very useful. For example :
1. Never eat junk : Avoid taking sweets, chocolates, fried and junk food, and cola completely if you can. The best way to avoid them is to stop bringing them home.
2. Reduce sugar consumption : Cut down the number of teaspoons of sugar in your cups of tea or coffee.
3. Have natural sugar-rich foods : If you like things which taste sweet, eat sweet fruits, raisins, dates, etc. These all contain a lot of fibre, which keep you satisfied for many hours.
4. Do not eat very fast: Speed eating is a bad habit from health point of view and leads you to eat more calories than you actually need. Eat slowly and in a relaxed way.
5. Prefer whole grains : Try to eat whole grains more and more because they make your body burn more calories and balance your metabolism. Whole grains keep nutrients intact and make you consume less calories than refined foods do.
6. Eat foods rich in protein : If your food does not contain protein, you cannot have the proper feeling of satiety and this can lead to overeating, and impede your plan to keep in shape.
7. Avoid sitting or lying : Walking does wonders but standing also helps you keep healthy. Sitting or lying down is always less desirable than standing as standing burns more calories. You can talk on mobile standing and do this as much as you can.
8. Have a good sleep : Inadequate sleep has been found to increase fat. Try to identify factors leading to loss of sleep and sort them out. A good sleep will help you keep healthy.
9. Make salad eating a passion: Raw vegetables and salads help you reduce your consumption of food that satisfy your appetite, adding lots of the calories.
10. Do not avoid healthy fat : Omega-3, i.e. good fats keep your metabolism up to the mark. They are found in nuts and oily fishes. Take walnuts and almonds with cereals, salads or yogurt.
